The bus is getting shiney shiney but the money is getting less and less
Had to put a stop on spending this month so I can,'t even buy a Cutting disc or grinding wheel. But...sh1t happens. We had to fork out just over a grand on vet bills this month, for our poor little molly who had to be put to sleep 2 weeks ago. And Kara the Great Dane has just cost us over £100.....But we wouldn't be without them
Little Molly
Anyhoo, onto the bus, managed to get the front panel back on, and with it a new repair section for the bottom, I'm very, very pleased with how it all sits, it joined up really nicely considering me and my mate spent about an hour discussing which was the best way to go about it.
Sorry, best pic I got at the mo...
As well as that we got the inner and outer wheel arch on....
I'm pleased with the door gaps, once the bottom hinge is on properly it will push the bottom right of the door up about 1mm and it should ( fingers crossed ) be ok.
As I've not been allowed to buy anything, I've had to make do with what I had in the garage.
Thankfully I had some sanding sheets..
Also got the repair panel in the floor, just needs a bit of tidying up.
And believe it or not, I've had the bus just over a year now, and the other weekend was the first time I got to sit in it !!!! It's a strange position, but the seat I got from Graham ( Graham 61 bus ) is very nice and certainly very comfy even with the original padding type stuff.
I think that's about it for now

Good to see it getting shinier and not at all suprising the shinier it looks, the more money that disappears!
I've seen a lot of these under buses and just wondered if the rig looking thing at front and rear is like a cradle for it?

Hey m1xmag, have a look at one of the posts at the top of the page, there is a link to the rottiserie I made, I had to cut the front upright off so I could get the wheel arch and door on
When it's back on It just lets me roll the bus onto it's side to work underneath easier, I think Rusty Lee who made a full octagonal ( ? ) one.

Thanks for that - rather spookily the penny just dropped when I looked at that very same post!
Gonna have to get one of these I think.

Oh yeah, naked pics of a bus....you pervs....Been trying to do about an hour in the evening, couple of evenings a week.
To say it's mind numbing is an under statement The angle grinder I've been using, the bearings have started to go so it does vibrate a bit now, but once the vibration has numbed ya hands it's not too bad
The roof was the big killer, I just did a 6" square at a time.
Started in the cab area now and should be into the cargo area next week.
The downside is the garage is such a friggin mess, everything you touch has half inch of dust
It will all get coated in metal ready to protect it over winter, and once I've sripped the inside I can do the engine bay and underside...whoop frikkin whoop

All that bare metal action takes me back a few years ... it takes for ever huh? I spent the best part of 6 weeks and burnt out 3 angle grinders with every inch of mine . . . never again . . .
Looking good though matey .. . hope you get back on it soon . ..

Jeez, this resto is taking me so long
Well the good news is I have finally finished the welding !!! ....thankfully, as it was begining to p*** me off a fair bit cause of how long it's took. So last weekend took the bus out into the alley and jet washed it all down, rolled it over on the rotisserie and did the underside as well. I was amazed at the amount of crap that I managed to wash off the underneath, All the south african soil is now outside my neighbours garage
So in the evenings I've been having a fantastic time ( that'll be sarcasm ) with firstly, marine clean...then wash it down, then the metal ready....then wash it down......Now I've started putting the POR 15 on....
The annoying thing is, I've used it before and I've read posts on here about what a pain it is to get off your skin, so did I wear gloves......off course not!
I'm about half way through doing the POR 15 and then just the Chassis Black top coat to do !!!! Hopefully by next weekend I'll have the underside done.
Also....had a bit of a play with some lead loading....
More of the lead loading later.
