Oh pooh. What nice car and such a tragic #### up. Let me know the part number of the piston and I'll see what the Mahle empire can come up with to replace them.

Thanks Bob!
Just looked at the destroyed piston and no numbers visable.
However the piston next to it on the same bank has 82 stamped on the top.....not sure if this means anything?
Have tried to contact a number of 912 specialists, just waiting for a reponse. Can get a set of oversized piston for £300 from America....however would still need a con rod.
Fingers crossed heh!

As far as I know Jim
I have been told that the cranks are pretty strong......have found most of the parts that I need......going to split the case and see in the next few days......
Wheels arrived today so will post pictures of them later......change of plan on finish......should look cool!

At last some good news.
I have found all the parts that I need to rebulid the engine and they are currently heading over from the US.
My wheels are also back from the powder coaters......changed my mind from chrome as really didnt like the finish and I am a fussy so and so......so we went for shadow chrome. They are powder coated black and then dusted with silver until the following appears!
They look better in real life!
If any of you need your wheels doing let me know and I will drop him a line......he charges £50 a wheel which is blasting, finishing and powder coating.

Good news on the engine parts, and the wheels look the business. Are you detailing them or leaving them all one colour.

Staying one colour........think that they look
Have the front tyres fitted now and just waiting for the rears to be delivered tomorrow.
The rear spring plates and the piston will be here in the morning.......just waiting for the rest from the US.
Fitted a Hurst gear shifter today.......
Really want to get it on the road........I am far too impatient!
Will be on the road for Stonor!
