Hi guys!
Done a bit more work these last few weekends on the bus, just been slack on the pics!
Well from the last pic after i removed the old floor and tee sections, i was left with the rear outriggers and cross member.
So the first thing was to kleen it up lay it on the floor and take some measurements.
Luckily i can dive under tonys bus every 5mis with a tape measure so cant go wrong He says!!
After we done the measurements, (a few times) we welded the complete rear end on, marked and done the tee sections, rear cross member and outriggers in .
very happy so far with the progress
Old rusty one next to new one!! I'm getting somewhere now
Cheers
Marco

Great work, a really cool thread, keep it going. For a non welding 'give it to somebody else to do' guy' this is an eye opener

Well its been a few month since my last update but i have done a fair bit on the bus. Not been lazy or anything
So from the last post i was at the tee sections, top hats, rear cross member and joining the rear gearbox cradle to the chassis. Next up was to replace the shock mounts that were removed from the doner chassis with the ones that are on my original chassis.
A little clean up.
check the and measure the position.
Weld.
Pow
Done.
oops 12,30 already got to get up in 5 hrs! i'll put some more pics up tomz. Is it me or are the pics too big?
cheers

Hi guys,
On with this chassis!
So shock mount's done, Then moved to the front replacing chassis legs, top hat and front outriggers.
I must say autocraft bit's are spot on!
Both sides welded on.
Then a plate went in for extra strength.
Fully welded in.
welds cleaned off on the outside.
Then on to the inner sill (LH)and(RH) went on.
And finished off with outriggers and top hat.
Job done! ISH
Then i had the tedious task of cleaning it all up ready for tony to give it a bit of primer.
Very happy with the way this is going.
cheers

Hi peeps,
Bit more work done on this chassis and you know what...... its was starting to pee me off ...... Once tony finished giving it a coat of primer i moved on to measuring the rear chassis sections to be welded. But i cocked up on this and was about 20mm short on one side and 16mm on the other Spent all day on this to get it right and still messed it up. But anyway you learn by your mistakes so carry on.
Rang rick(bustuff) and got two more end bits and set off on doing it again, but this time with the help of tony and his trusty im never wrong tape measure And would you believe it.....its spot on!!!! So we welded them on then on got the rear valance on for a test fit. PERFECT..
Here are some pics of the progress so far.... First my s**t job...
Then the propper job was done..
Done dusted finished complete at last!!!! Now i can get it out of the way and moved on to getting the chassis on to the body.
Thats it at last its back on the bus
Now going to concentrate on getting the B and C posts done and work my way back
Cheers
