And we got back home, no real issues bar a couple of small electrical gremlins.
Another great photo of the SC from one of our crowd, looks like I’ve pimped it up with some LEDs
Thanks to everyone that went, a class weekend. Cheers

I have a Glasses guide to reg. numbers from 1965.
The 1234 HX series, numbers 1 to 5999 was issued in Middlesex from Feb 60 to Mar 61 - allocated in blocks. 6000 to 9999 were issued from May 60 to Dec 60.
I've noticed this block style of issuing for special purpose vehicles (ie buses, dust carts & milk floats) or other commercial vehicles.
Middx got absorbed into the GLC, and I happen to know that Ken Livingston ordered all the old paper records be destroyed so there's no chance you'll be able to find your vehicle in the county records.
I know other people similarly stuck trying to legally resurrect a barn find. The DVLA won't play ball anymore with supplying details previous owners from the old log book data.
We have a similar case in our workshop now - a '66 Cooper S which was exported to the US in the 60s, and has now come back - STILL with the original 60s UK plates on and several old tax discs. But DVLA say no - you'll have to have these other replacement plates - which still have a D suffix.
I don't understand why they don't just give the number back but as a * non-transferrable * .
Just to add - our client tends to call DVLA rather than email. He says that the people are either awkward and just say no - or very pleasant but can't help as the computer says no.

Thanks for the info, still planning my appeal to the Chief Exec (last chance saloon) whilst searching for any paperwork or link to the original garage.woodypup59 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 11:35 am I have a Glasses guide to reg. numbers from 1965.

That does support the commercial vehicle tax disc ...
The reg could not have been on a kombi or microbus..but the link to a VIN is their issue.
Sadly my MIL's cousin was chief man when DVLA was set up but long since passed away!

The annual pilgrimage to Vicky Farm seems to come round quicker every year. But it’s one of my favourite weekends and is always first in the diary.
Preparations had been taking shape for a couple of weeks, we setup camp as a group so sorting food and more importantly drink is key. The plan was to drop the bus off in the week then drive over Friday in the SC, best laid plans and all that saw us loading the SC on Thursday with all our gear and a tent, first time for ages that we’ll sleep under canvas, hopefully it won’t be too cold
Friday afternoon and a sharp exit from work and we’re ready to go. Not really sure how I fit everything in the bus last year
