Oh no.....
But not for me..... I returned to my van to find the AA and a very poor advert for my neighbour..
Nice Porche GT3...drove 72 miles to get to the wedding venue and stopped to bring up
"Engine management fault contact Porche. ."
The owner was not amused. ...
Delivered and returned in the same day...
As the owner said...so far the running cost was well over £1000 a mile..
I offered to swap and he definately considered it...
I was worried

So Devon Caravette at "The Devonshire"..... all ready to go to collect the groom........
Peebles Performed well...got to The Craven Heifer via the Route de Yorkshire King of the mountains stage roads....
Glad it has standard reduction boxes and torque a plenty.
Went up and down the lanes marked narrow at 7'6" across the cattle grids and onto the tops of the moors....
Major hazard round here is the cyclists...narrow roads and cylist and popular walking terrain...
Went to mingle with groomsmen and get changed into our tails.
Eldest son drove...He is from the Scottish Borders and used to similar terrain.
Quick wash to remove the fly collection and dry with chamois..
Then Peebles took the Groom, Best man and myself to Bolton Abbey for the wedding.
Great day and much admired and photographed by many. ...
Performed faultlessly. ..
Made my ambition.
Take Pride of place at Le cadet's wedding..
Parked up outside Bolton Abbey
SWMBO and newest DIL...
SWMBO checking out who I am ogling. ..
Brought eldest son DIL and grandsons back from Bolton Abbey to The Devonshire for the reception.
The chauffeur = L'Aine... Proud as punch to have driven on the day...

"Sunday Walk with Lunch" at The Craven Arms in Appletreewick ......
http://www.walkingfamilies.co.uk/index. ... -walk.html
Le Cadet is a Triathelete and cyles round here in training with the Brownlees so in the invite we extended the celebration to invite the guests to a walk and a sandwich...
We had reserved a few tables but then extended it to book the whole of the Byre at the back of The Craven Arms. This is a very popular wedding venue in its own right and is always booked six months in advance, There was a wedding reception that very night but because it is such a popular walkers pub...it was taking lunch and a pint guests.
Sixty guests turned out for a walk short or long and food.
This was really succesfull...I just sat in the pub with a pint of "Old Peculier" straight from the wood...
Nectar..
So my wedding pictures were all of a very beautiful girl and fielding questions every ten minutes about Peebles!
off to upload pictures...
SWMBO lorded it in the pub before the hordes arrive..Not sure if I have a picture..
But not view from the Split but view of a splt from the pub window...
My that is a great pub..

Well I was given a Flower Posy bowl by David Haywood (he was very kindly passing it on from a Customer Coin Whadcock who had given him a large number of post resto items)
He immediately saw that the colours matched Peebles perfectly.
It came with one small Aluminium bottom bracket and no other attachment....my facination was how it was originally fitted because the front is flat and the back is curved to match the curve of the dash..
I carried out a light restoration of the chips on the edges.....removing the sharp edges and filing..
I was going to try to fit the Posy bowl to the dash vents but I have fitted a speaker behind with a card surround and with a little work it may be possible to fit...
But i was still fascinated to wonder where it had been designed to fit..
It was definately used in a van...
Then I discovered where it did fit...
Off to visit Lily the local Florist to select some suitable flowers and she made me a lovely arrangement..
Frescias, Roses and ???? in Oasis
I carried it upright hidden away till the day of the wedding

Cheers Steve....
Yes... faultless 357 mile run up around about and to Ilkley station for going away on honeymoon...Then delivering all the things to everyone and then a blast home...
My face aches from all that smiling...
Saw one split disappearing into the distance in Appletreewick coming from the direction of the campsite. ..
Lowered on fuches...He waved to my eldest...
I still had my nose in Old Peculier

Yes..I managed it in third...ahem...Second. ..but I turned off the fuel relay as well ...Just so I could practice my hill starts all over again.
I normally drive 4.2 litres of Audi auto power and that does not roll backwards...no clutch handbrake issues...
But Peebles coped well with the idiot learning to brake and change going up and down 14% inclines all over again.
I last had such fun driving my 100 bhp mini 1000cc Jim Cooper hill climb lightened flywheel twin carbed mini on drums all round driving the Furka Susten and Grimsel passes in the 70's. .
My I was good back then..

It's got plenty of poke. Runs great in my opinion. It was fun on the downhills not cooking the brakes. They will have started to bed in anyway.

Cheers son...
Was really nice to see the northern continegent of the clan...
The boys behaved......well......like boys..
Some super photos of them in their kilts..
Tyres pressures now set at 31psi in the fronts and 37psi in the rears.
I have increaed the fronts slightly to see if the turning effort is any different..
When I was loaded up moving stuff and people seemed really quite stable...
Has what I wanted grunt for the hills and reasonable speed at low revs for the Motorway...withut too discernable a gap.
3200 turning just under 60 m.p.h.
Oil pressure good and oil temperature quite OK without a cooler.
Looking now to see if the CHT is calibrated..or if we are just using as a "comparator".
Found the instructions on line..
http://www.dakotadigital.com/pdf/odyr-11.pdf
We have it set for degrees F like the vdo Oil temperature gauge......So German/ continental/ VW/ vdo would be Fahrenheit anyway..
in order to give a like wise scale I asked for the CHT to be in Fahrenheit..
You cannot calibrate the gauge per se...You can change the scale and set the warning level.
The gauge is not accurate at low levels but the internal cirucitry raises the reading to 90-150F and the readings show above 150F. When ticking over or travelling at 30mph in 3rd is below 150 so that sounds OK.
Our warning is set at the minimum which I have now established was 300F.
The highest I saw all week end when I was driving was top end of the 230s maybe we are running fine then!
On coming off the motorway after a trial of 60 for around 10 miles it rose to 247...sounds fine..
There were comments on here about head temparture readings..Will have to read..
Dad
