I had a UPS email through, he was making them all at once so yours should be heading out too.
Do you if the thread inside was painted on the originals? Or should I leave it?
Any tips on keeping them attached?

Will need to compare with OG pictures I have but others I have seen have a bolted plate at the bottom..
So unknown yet..
Hope he has made threaded part with stainless bolts...
I will test with magnet and then decide!I will post pictures of OG that I have seen and of the copies I have that came with my three bar version...
Will post soon..

Found this email from him:

"The top part of the clamp is steel. the bolt inside is zinc plated.

The bottom part that twists is stainless (with the hole drilled in it) the threaded part is zinc plated. the rest is stainless except the clamp that goes on the gutter."

Well one detail is the height of the supports for the Easicool
The PO made an over easicool board..
This locates well with two shaped pegs BUT he made a support bar at the back and two pegs at the front.
I specified 4" foam and 2" over easicool BUT because mine is spaced up...Maybe it should have been 1"
Never mind...it is quirky but looks good if not level..

The wooden board over the easicool...and the cushion are around the same size.
I have still not resolved how I want the cushion to be attached..

This like most solutions here has been made by a PO and is not original. I have seen many variations.

The board is 235mm x 405mm I have a cushion the same size which is 50mm thick

your board is lot thicker …and then the supports as well

mine is a simple play board and the supports on the board are inbound from the supports on the cupboard etc, so one one doesn't sit on the other, it sits inside of it to stop movement
I have 2" foam and mine sits level….i would make a new board personally

The easicool cushion is the one i sit on the most, and would bug me if it wasn't level

As I thought at the time...The over Easicool board was not stripped and relaquered for that very reason it has been added and varnished with nice orange varnish. ..but it does locate well.
My 65 Caravette and 64 Caravette both have water tanks and pumps with cut away corner fillet..
On the 65 the foam was glued to the unfinished ply board and the duracour has like an elastic draw string round it and has been bleached by the sun...
There is was a drilled hole to take a peg at some time but this weakened the fillet wooden form and a big bit had sheared off so this had to be refitted by me with waterproof PVA glue and zG clamps.
I do like the idea of pegs to locate it and think the PO spaced it up so he could avoid the board sitting on the whale pump spout...

It does swing in an arc and can be operated..
I will get round to making another. ..At some time..
A project for son in his DT lessons ( No.... He is the Teacher....LOL)
In true fashion I "aquired" an oak plinth which was to have an " Opening ceremony" plaque attached but was ordered too small.
This is just oak veneered tick tacky but looks the correct oak hue.
He can have that as a project.
In the mean time it works and I may just get a piece of 1" foam and some velcro...
Quirky but I did know it would be a finishing work required jobby.

Seabass are you reading...
Still tarting..

Just found this picture on the web....

I was driving my youngest son and his beautiful bride off to go on their Honeymoon in Italy...from the local Railway station in ILKLEY!

Image

Just clocked up 400 miles in total now..
Been on M1, M62, M621, M42, M5 and M6..now.
Benco freeway flyer with 1776cc pulling 95bhp ish at flywheel runs well on Motorway at 3200 rpm at 60 m.p.h. All I really wanted...
Still lots of grunt left!

Been to See Bromsgrove Autotrimmers again today..
Pete and Angela are nice people!

Got to be brave now and cut and fit my pop top trim..
Still doing lots of detailing..
Fitted LED bulbs at rear today from...

info@dynamoregulatorconversions.com

4 x 12v amber indicator bulbs http://www.dynamoregulatorconversions.c ... s-shop.php part number 2, then CC2A

2 x 12v 21w/5w stop/tail bulbs http://www.dynamoregulatorconversions.c ... s-shop.php part number 2, then CB2A

Using a Bosch electronic flasher unit for the tow bar electrics which flash LEDs with no problem.

Cheers Peter - nice items

The indicators and stop and tail are much brighter to the rear which is exactly what I wanted,,,

Cheers Simon...
Really pleased with how this drives...
Great Fun when I stop.... lots of looks and questions...
Usually..based on "Is that really an old VW or has it got an old plate on a new bus?"

I am reaaly pleased with the parts I sourced and the work from "Haywood Custom & Classic"

"Dusty Dave" & "Blacklisted Matt"

What thoroughly capable guys these are...

I just love the meticulous work...

As I think you said...Matt spent such care and attention in sorting out the front mudflap fitment...
Loads of people have asked questions about these...

Cracking work as ever.

Well I never did write the details of the engine and gearbox build.

Peebles did not have the original engine fitted. ..The PO took out the OG engine and fitted a Mexican dual port 1600.
This was a good upgrade but it turned out to be poorly done with a lot of tinware missing.
Examination of the engine suggested that it may be a candidate for a rebuild but my local engine rebuilder. ....is into building high powered Toyota Peugeot units and is very much in demand.
I stripped it of all the tinware and ancillaries and that was as far as we got. .
Put it on test and as I knew it runs.
Over the years it had suffered broken exhaust studs as they all do and would need a bit of work.
I am still working and my contract was renewed yet again so I chose to look at the cost of having it refurbished by a well known builder...His health is not good and although he said he would do it..I was concerned it was an imposition on him.
I approached another well known builder who tried to sell me an engine he had just completed.
Discussions went ahead and he provided a spec. ..etc. All seemed to go well until I asked for origin and number of the long block and receipts for parts included..
Instead I got abuse. ....
You know who you are and I for one will not be using you!
Then I drew up a spec of what I wanted and read everywhere.
Went down another UK rabbit hole to find the builder now specialised in rebuilding grenaded US hypo units instead putting tight what others had not done correctly in the first place.
He did kindly give me a build spec and a list of UK and US suppliers and who to use and who not to use.
He suggested being brave and having the engine built in USA...He did the same for reputations...
I followed up who he suggested and researched out CPR.
Coops had gone the same route.
I contacted Chico (Annibal first name...I still do not get that right) Performance Racing.
Discussed and firmed up spec and placed my order.

So markp.... Are you really out there..
Started my build..
Promise I will add pictures..
Initial TM10 spec 1776cc picture he sent as an example of a Bus unit.
