Well I don't know the story (which I'm sure is just as interesting/amusing) but here goes with a few pics from Mark's elusive photobucket account.........

I think we're supposed to be looking at the wiper motor here which has arrived back from the USA - but strangely I'm drawn instead to the spanners on the wall....... OCD springs to mind 8O

And as way of an apology, promised to take Mark's kids out for a drive, even though it was their bedtime (how irresponsible!)

By George! All the visitors and yet no one has been tempted to put the trim in yet?

Or are you still sourcing it? :(

I *think* he's now going with black for the beltline trim insert as the correct red could not be found.

I'm sure I read that somewhere.... :?

Well Mark what can I say!! I have read all of your thread and it's taken me all week!! I'm new on here and have just got a splitty project in probably the same state as yours was! I would like to congratulate you on an epic task you took on and I can't believe the end result you have acheived in what I would say is a short amount of time! It looks fantastic and would love to see Gerry in the flesh. You my friend are a master craftsman and if mine turns out half as good as Gerry I will be chuffed to bits!

Just hope in the future if at all possible I may call on you time to time for some advice when I get stuck into mine.

Really pleased for you and hope Gerry gets many outings soon!

All the best Dusty. :)
