I do love a steel wheel freshly painted...
Nice...

I am tempted to commit sacrilege and have mine painted two tone though...
Sons would hate it...

Only comment about assembling brake shoes is the spring across the shoes has an off set and the centre coils need to be assembled so they sit on the outside if you understand.
Then they cannot catch on the hub...

Called in to see the bus this morning, they put the first coat of high build on yesterday, but he says still a lot of work to do. They are now going to block back all the black and the interior finding any imperfections then repeat. But starting to get somewhere now

Cheers Neil

Now having trouble building the rear axle/brakes up, as some bits have gone missing, it's doing my head in as I know what I need, but don't know the part numbers, and after phoning the usual suppliers they havnt got a clue what I'm on about without the number, I'm going to try the tech section

The heritage catalogues are very good - nice pictures with part numbers - or their website

Thanks, but from the website I can't tell if the outer spacer for the rear bearing is the same as my original one or the other one I've just bought that is wrong, the one on the left is my original with just one chamfer to the inside edge to take the o ring, I don't have part numbers for either as the one I bought is a used original VW part I bought over the phone, I might just buy one and hope for best

Thanks
