Half a day today as first bit was mot time for hollies beetle.
Bus shifted to middle of the cave and just enough room to get trestles down each side.
Then high build time although not allot of room.
Then fired up the space heater turning the cave into a heating booth
The guide coat arrived so started on long side
And after an hour
Do love this shot though
Tomorrow is guide coat and flatting day with plans to then seam seal and then another high build all exterior during evenings this coming week.

As I said flatting day with roof being first job then shift bus back to side.
Couldn't resist just to boast moral as I was bored already of sanding.
Then cab
Cargo area
Short side
Rear
Sorry same old same old pics of flatted panels but wow what a crap day 12 hours on the block.
And yep these are throbbing, once sausage fingers more chipolatas now
Knightmare is got to do it all again in a week or so ahhhhhhhhhhhhh
Definitely earned a beer today..

Cheers Steve , yep still going but kind of hitting that wall where a rest is needed but know it won't get done. But also know I couldn't rest knowing it's not done.
Finished early today so got in cave mid afternoon removing all the akward snapped screws, several in over head vent cover and one in fuel flap. You kind of get the gist.
Then spent the rest of my time seam sealing joints and repairs which took ages.
Again only a few pics as they aren't very interesting.
Tomorrow should see sill & above finished and ready for final prime. I guess then to tackle doors.

Good seam sealing is so important though.
Mine took ages, but whenever I'm underneath the bus, I'm always pleased to see how it looks. Us amateurs can afford to spend extra time here, but I wouldn't want to pay me for doing it as I'm really slooooooow

Would hate to put a price on man hours but more dreading repaying the brownie points as it starts with finishing off the garden then a complete redecorate of the house.

Your welcome glad it helped unfortunately can't see your pics .
Colour wise same as before, blue should be identical white is slightly different. Page or so back shows dash tray and fuel cap which is my colours. Might be adventurous & try my luck at a pin stripe but need to consult the oracal first.

well done Bren
Looks great
You would of had NO finger pints by the end of 12 hours of sanding primer ..... good for a quick bank job to get the account up and ready for any new bits you'll be fitting on Trixie
your doing this really fast ( Like that
) so well done ... total dedication
Looking forward to more updates

Some will think dedication others mmmmm really, needs committing. I'm just looking forward to completion so to get my life back.
Tuesday evening finished off seam sealing and a tiny bit of final prep. Also started seam sealing under neath, need to raise bus to do remainder and job for another day..
No rest for the wicked tonight so de dust de grease and tack cloth well in that sort of order. fired up the heater tonearm up the cave and the cave became the spary booth again. Mixed up plenty of high build and done complete bus inside and out which should now be final time.
Didn't take any pics as its same old same old so nothing new or exciting. Taken a few days holiday so get 4 days in the cave. With plans to sort last few repairs on engine lid and rear hatch, finish seam sealer under neath & possibly get it stone chipped as that arrived today.

I'm a going and in the cave for 8am today.
Few parcels arrived today, a new da sander as last one valve packed up so is flat out and no control. Plus something we had been waiting for a while.
Yep our new rear seat/bed, we did have a full width bed before but was stiff to swap up and down so upgraded.
Although no pics built it up as needed to know position so I could but in lap belt mounts.
Then was last few repairs underneath so trix went airborne, ohhh what I'd give for a rollover jig or at least the space for one as laying on your back is an arse.
Some 9" hollows and 6x4's made trix very rigid, going higher than my axle stands would go so happy to work underneath.
Then covered everything up to keep clean
Then made a start on the engine lid, know of a few dents as could see these from inside but wasn't expecting the patch across the bottom. Will repair for now but in years to come will see a new one will be required.
Also prepped valance, a little beat up behind but kind of pointless doing anything with it. To me gives extra clearance on the exhaust plus the vintage speed is stainless so gets very hot so any kind of filler is likely to pop.
The outer part was good so just flatted back
Tomorrow is seam seal underneath bus first thing and hopefully last thing stone chip. Inbetween is filler work on engine lid and make a start on rear hatch.

Was an early start & 730 in the cave yesterday
Seam sealer was first
This took ages and typical run out of seam sealer before I could finish front and n/s wheel arches but got majority done so whilst drying for stone chip later got first stage of filler work.
These are first job today as its a quiet job sanding.
Next up rear hatch, always had a bubble from the first day we got her and can see why now.
Patch is were bubbles were doing there magic. The corners had so many small holes patches etc scrapped them and used corners from my now donor door.
Had originally got the door as a replacement but a friend not in the know picked it up for me so couldn't really refuse or return. Originally been dipped but not primed or anything after so surface rust set in in points you could never get to plus many holes on the skin so to much work to use.
Had some cuts though
Small bit of fertan to try and stop any nastys.
Inner part of skin primed
Skin sits on a treat with no work required, result.
Job for today is skin attachment.
Final job for yesterday and yep still in the cave at 9pm but it stinks so was always the last job of day.
Excuse my finger photo bombing but getting tired by that point.
And that was me for yesterday but today is another day and here the cave calling already.
