Mr. Bo Jangles 13 window deluxe

Its been along time since I updated Mr Bo's progress mainly because Carl at Beetlebank agreed with me that he would focus totally on the Oval that was in first & then when that went off to have the wiring done he would then switch all his attention to mine. This was back around October & the Oval did go early in January so over the next couple of days I'll try to bring it up to date.......
Here's Carl working on the roof
Then up on the lift to make it easier to work on the lower panels
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
Lee the upholstorer sent me some pictures of the two front seats completed
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
Which I'm really pleased with, can't wait to see the rest of the interior
The door bottoms now sorted
[/img]
[/img]
The other doors etc getting ready
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
& the engine dropped
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
German square weave carpets arrived, first class ,well pleased
[/img]
Vermulen was right , unfortunately because of the way I constructed the first frame for my curved cabinet, whne I ct the door it opened just slightly & although I tried a few things the top corner wouldn't quite line up
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
So I started again, including cross members
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]
and with 2 layers of birch ply
[/img]
and braced with the third
[/img]
Oh & I just ordered one of these
[/img]
[/img]
& heres my other toy down at Woolacombe today
[/img]
Hopefully the paint is going to start going on this week.

I went down to Beetlebank this afternoon to see the first paint laid onto Mr Bo
Its been a long time coming but obviously the preperation is the most important part of the job. We were hoping to show it at Volksworld but with a few jobs taking a bit longer than expected, we've decided to back out of that show & aim for something a few weeks later
Any way heres the roof, it does look a little dark as the vans sat under an orange light

The beam hasn't arrived
, but the chrome is back
the only thing is they chromed the outside rather than the inside of the head light parts, but other than that, the rest looks beautiful.
Met Lee again for some more detail on the upholstery.
Mr. Bo is having a little work on the interior & final panel prep.
I took over my clocks that I brought in from the States, Carbon Fibre Autometer gauges.

The tacko is going in a chrome pod next to the ashtray & the three others will be mounted in the overhead air box, angled to face me
. I've always dreamt of doing a motor from top to bottom, & I'm loving every minute of finally putting it all together, just can't wait for it to be done now & start enjoying driving it again

Today I took most of the bits I've been buying over the last couple of years towards the final fit, although not quite in paint Carl wanted everything there ready for trial fitting when he needs it

Old Mr. Bo never stops amazing me as to just how solid he is, just look at the bare metal under the wheel arches & then primed
[/img]
[/img]
& theres the weedeater beam waiting to go in
[/img]

Having a couple of days off so took the dreaded step of cutting the door in cabinet Mk2, hoping this one would hold it's form & not spring open .......
WELL HAPPY, IT WENT REALLY WELL, NOW TOP & INSIDE FLOOR BEING GLUED THEN INSIDE PANELS LINED, ALSO OVER HEAD CABINET FROM THE REAR OF THE VAN IS BEING COVERED IN BIRCH PLY. PICTURES LATER WHEN FINISHED.
