Looking good mate ...
Agreed, por 15 seems to dry like a second layer of skin from my experience and yeah ... you'll 'shed' that layer in a week or 2 ...

Cheers guys' very happy with how it looks underneath now.
Been a slight change of plan, I was planning on trying to spray it before the damp weather gets here. Was aiming for mid Sept but Clare annoyingly ( but correctly as usaual
) pointed out that it would just get scatched / damaged / chipped while I was doing everything else, so....the plan is now to put in the steering box, new brake lines and other bits and pieces that are easier to do while it's still on it's side. Then cut up the rotiserie and make some of those dolly trolley things that go under the wheels so it's easy to move around, so I can start putting the front beam and rear end back on.
Last year I bought a later gearbox with the large nut RGB's from a running bus so I'm hoping that they should all go on without having to do too much work first. Then the front beam and the like. All stock height
Then have a go at building an engine from the two I have sat in the garage
going for a 1600 SP
Plus I guess 6 weeks for me to get it all prepped and painted is pushing it a bit !!!
The final colour is Clares choice, but I know she wants it Turqouise and White. Which means she'll be down at B&Q looking at those cards with every colour under the sun on them, find the one she likes and get the paint made up to match.
It will also be a nice break from welding and bodywork and get on with some mechanics and electrics.
Gonna upgrade to dual brakes as well.

Soooo......what's been happening since thelast update months and months ago?
Well, Simon ( rusting hulk ) did my spindles for me, and a lovelly job he did too, totally reccomended. I sent him these.....
And they came back top notch
Clare went in to hospital for a big hip operation in October and that was the last time I worked on the bus until maybe late Jan / early feb as I was busy doingmy best to look after her !!!!! I realised i am a selfish person with very little patience !
Tried to keep track of what I took off
Got the new Dual Circuit master cylinder
The front end all just needs tightening up now and I have to get the front wheel alignment sorted.
Got the gearbox back in today, so just need to get the new rear brake lines on

Well for anybody watching this.... I realised I will have had the bus 3 years in May...now that is depressing, 3 years and not even in primer.......well I'm hoping that may change bay the end of the next Bank Holiday weekend.....I did say hoping
I decided I fancy having ago at Lead loading.....and I really enjoyed it....it's not perfect, not by a long shot but at least I will get away with either just a bit of stopper or a thin skim of filler.
Engine lid hinge area bit before
And after
And the other side
Short Sill
Cab Door
Long Sill
Front Panel
And the rear corner I was dreading....I couldn't get any more of the dent out as it has the inner skin in the cargo area , I had tried welding things on and trying to pull it out but, it just wasn't happening.
But it turned out ok, again a skim of filler.

I have to say, just looking at the bit I posted up. The camera ( I know it never lies ) but it doesn't really do my Lead loading justice. It is actually better in the flesh...er... lead. Honestly

Looking good Andy, I couldn't have lead loaded my van, with the amount of filling I did it would have weighed more than the QE2 if I had

Now have I over done the guide coat, urrmmmmm....maybe
Just waiting for the guide coat to fully dry before I crack on.
