Hello,
Well yesterday I went up to see the van!! It was great to go and see the progress in the metal, especially as I have only been able to get on with the mechanical bits currently. I took a video to show the van and how its looking at the moment, just about to have the inner sills welded on. Enjoy......

Strangely exciting for me

Helloooo, been a while but have been soo busy with lots of different things. (I'm currently in South Africa enjoying the incredibly sunny winter!)
I have just received an email from Haywoods with some picture updates in regards to the rear corner and long side being trial fitted which is exciting. So do watch out for posts in the next few days.
Hope your all well,
Write soon bru

So here we are, I am currently in Cape Town. Having a great time.... I got these pics from Dave which show lots of exciting and visable steps forward with getting the long side and the rear corners trial fitted
Ill post the pics so you can see where we are at.
Here is the short side trial fitted on with a new near side corner fitted on....
Off side corner trial fitted before blasting...
And with the long side trial fitted....
And then we have some new tubs in place which look very nice and shiny.... progress progress progress
And the other side....
All very exciting. Unfortunately I havn't been able to push the engine rebuild forward as I have been away but it is nearly cleaned up and ready to re assemble with the new bits. I will post again once I have got some progress on the engine or more pics from the boys at Haywoods. Until then .......

Hey friends,
I hope you havn't been missing my posts too much!
I am off travelling today for 3 and 1/2 months so most probably wont be posting again until i'm back in mid-september. When i'm sure Dave will have some fun progress on the bus.
Until then, adios amados.

Hey everybody...
Hope all is well with you all, I am currently in Sunshine Coast Australia. After a month in Thailand, I arrived in Melbourne and after a few days there, I headed up to Sydney. As you may imagine, it can be hard to get a fast internet connection or very expensive to get on a computer and sit down and do things you really want to do... but I am staying at a friends house now and they have a decent speed internet connection so Im here ..... yay
So I have had a few emails containing pictures from Dave and Matt, but havn't got them uploaded onto the photobucket account yet. If I can, I will try to work some magic in the next few days. I am glad to say the front is now back on and the bus is moving forward at a great speed considering im over 3000 miles away from it.... thanks Dave & Matt.
Will hopefully post the pics soon... but then it may be september when Im back before they do get done, if I'm unable
Peace and love my homies

Okie dokie..... currently got some time to burn at Sydney airport and managed to get all the photos uploaded to the bucket at my friends so here we are.
So the engine bay and rear corner are now coming on from this....
To this....
As you can see from the pic above both rear tubs back iin and looking goooood....
Then we have the front end progress which is great to see... at least my hair will stay fixed a little better and should be less breezy when wearing shorts
The windscreen is shaping up with just a little bit more to do.....
And from what the dash did look like to what it does now!! All I can say is looovely job
The front floor is pretty much ready to go in.....
The bus certainly has come far from this.........
To this...
To then this!!!.......
Then THIS!!! Sheeka
To this ..... (Oh Jesus have I done the right thing!!!!!)
To the calming sight of this......
Still a lot to be done though!! Exciting to see the progress.
Check out some of the stuff at Haywoods to see some of there other work.... if you didn't know already these guys certainly know what job they are doing!

Ok gentlemen, ladies and whoever else may be checking this resto thread.
I have been pretty naff at posting on here for the last few months however the bus is moving forward and my engine rebuild is nearly complete. Lots of shiny new parts have been put on and lots of other parts been made nice!
I am aiming to get lots more photos up soon of the progress to fill in the gap so stay tuned..... but in the mean time here is a pic after we had made the crankcase look pretty
By the way that is Mark's Austin in the background... he has the engine out of it at the mo, as a bolt from inside the casing came out of the side of the casing, whilst he was going to the pub - woops!
See you soon!

Engine Restoration!!
Here are the pics of the engine restoration. It's taken a fair bit of time, but I have tried to do it as well as I could with Mark teaching me how an engine works and how to rebuild and engine and how to do it well etc etc etc.. The man had quite literally been a God send!
So I don't know if you remeber this from a while back..
Mark and I stripped it down and had a pile of bits like this...
and a crankcase and its friends looking like this....
We decided not to split the case as it was running brilliantly and thought that as there was tell tale signs of a previous rebuild we thought it may be a step in the wrong direction.
So we got a nice sturdy engine stand and got to work. Bit of graft and paint comes up alrite...
We cleaned all the bits we were going to re-use in copious amounts of gunk and rust remover... we used phosphoric acid solution which removed the rust really well.....
Mark cleaning something....
And nearly there....
We just have a few little bits to sort out before we can get it running again... then we can put it with the pile of bits 'ready to go' well until we run into any blips.....
Until next time (which I will try to make sooner rather than later). Adios.

Dude, the nuts on the sump plate need to domed, not an ordinary nut, the oil will get past the threads and cover that lovely clean engine in no time.
