well I got some time in the cave this weekend
and Gerry's nearly ready for paint
Got the front arch sorted
I'm still not 100% sure why it blistered but I can only guess it was the split in the sealer .... Anyway I welded up the top of the arch to the long side panel thus making sure the sealer does not move / crack again
After digging around i found weak metal so I dug a hole and welded it all back up too ....... I'd say this was the area that made the sealer crack and then water got in under the paint ...... anyway all sorted now
all the blistering sanded out ... guess thats because it had not been there for long and I'm happy I decided to do this now and not next year as that may have been a different story
so now I just need to flat the primer and seam sealer the panel joins ..... Job done !!!!!
Cave needs a tidy up now

Looking good. Good that you caught it at this stage and not when rot had started eating away at the metal.

Loads of work but its exactly what I expected of you Mark! Perfection!!
Looking great again, and agree with sorting it all in one go, you would only regret it if you left any blemishes.
Hope to catch you this year at a show! Take care

Right
Gerrys all ready for paint and his is going in next Friday as I got the day off work to go to the Bodyshop and be my painters slave for the day
But my next job is to wash Gerry as his a total mass and completely covered in dust
That's tomorrow job
O and by the way new cave doors ordered as they are feeling weak and I don't want them to fall on Gerry

He still rocks! We love your bus!
My mum still wants to go for a drive in him. He's her favourite, mainly because you did it yourself and Mrs P stitched a mean interior!
She thinks the monkey bus is a show pony. # trailer queen

Hi Mark
When your having the repairs painted on the seams, do you need to have the whole long panel painted or do they just blend it in?
Just curious

Here we go
Nice dry drive into the Bodyshop this morning few .... as It would have been a pain if it was raining as I'd of had Dry gerry before I could work on him .... Anyway as I said ... it was a dry trip in so a proper result
Guys had got me a prime spot right outside the Spray Booth so parker Gerry up and set to work .....
So first job was to get Gerry all masked up and ready for the spray boot ..... Once he was ready he was driven into the booth and then we finished of the masking .... I left Anthony to do all the detail making as I took the vintage cooler box in too ... so while Anthony was working his magic I carried on repairing the cooler box
We decided after a few moment of chatting that it would be a better job to paint the side rather than blowing in the long side panel ...... so I prepped that side for a paint and them masked it up ready ..... again I left Anthony to do the detail making as everyone likes there jobs masked up in a special way from the next man .
Had a little peek at the master at work while I was waiting for the filler to dry on the cooler box
Then the oven was switched on and I knew Anthony had done his work and it was time the bake the paint dry after what seamed an eternity the over switched off and Boooom Gerry was all done and looking fab again
OOOOO and I finished repairing the cooler box .... so I've left that there to be premiered
As you can see it was getting dark buy now and I had to shoot home in Gerry as claire was waiting to go out to work .... and the boys needed an adult to look after them ....... We me anyway hehehehhehehehe
So tomorrow I'll pop the freshly painted bumper back onto Gerry and give him a little clean...... then next week on Wednesday he is off to be service
Then its a cruz to Ninove ..... Love it !!!
Over & Out perv's
