Yep it's proper crammed, building gear, tools etc then resto stuff & gear makes it very full. Would be worse but 80% of my tools are on site at current house renovation we are on.

Full cave day again with first job being bumpers and flat back, then another final high build.

Flat back above swage lines the final coat of white for those parts.

Mmmmm different parts similar pic.

Tomorrow might be a blue day or maybe a white, time will tell.
But as you can see by pics I do not have much space so a big juggling act whatever job it is now..

Fair play doing all of this in the limited space youve got pal, although white and blue oversprayed tools will be around now for at least 5 years... You do realise?!? ;)

I sprayed Vickys old beetle in moms double garage a few years back, the mower, all of her stuff on the racking and everything within a certain radius was yellow! She was not impressed. The car came out lovely though which was the most important thing... ;) ;)

Yep over spray is getting everywhere & added more today

Quick update tonight as boss says I'm looking tired, mmm didn't need reminding that I'm completely f.......ed.
Last night thoughts was blue or white so went black finishing fuel tank and pedals, no pics today of that as they went straight inside bus and masked in so I could carry on.
Plenty of white today & getting paint on repaired cab door that got damaged bumpers etc finishing at 6pm
Started building things up getting all 6 popouts built. Plenty of talc and they slid reasonably well but bound up so last 5 mm was by sash cramps

Image

After 4 hours all 6 done but wow do they give the fingers a workout.

Image

That was me today but plan is blue tomorrow which will see 90% of that done.

My mum popped over today to see progress & had been busy herself. Cool huh :)

Hi Bren, all looking good.

Where did you buy your pop out rubbers? We're they/are they any good? Would you buy the same again?

Got to do mine

Sorry Steve don't know the rubbers on the bus are original, they were in such good condition ie flexible and no cracks used them again. It was only the frames that needed work and was easier to replace than try to make good
Trix came from the states in 2008 where she had been made good I guess to sell so rubbers were done around that point. Or a point before as they are not try original as to good for a 50 year old bus.

Made use of storm Katie today opening up all the doors and dust instantly gone & with a little help for the stubborn stuff with the air line now have a clean cave lol.
Didn't want to mess up my non hard work so left most open when flatting back making it easy for spraying.

Had plenty to spray blue but more lack of room, everything was prepped by 1pm but just took ages to mask up to protect white.
Quick sneaky peak of colour combo before re masking.

All ready for final coat.

Hats off to you Bren. You're doing a cracking' job there.
You make me feel tired just reading about how much you get done in a day.

I'm getting slower and feel like I need a break to re invigorate myself.

Keep going like this and you'll make VF

Cheers all no pics tonight as late 1am finish & very much ready for my pit, 99% of white now done :)

Vf will be a well deserved beer and boy will i sleep mark as my week is always 70hours with fire shifts then building, trix is evenings and weekends. Yep the candle has been well and truly burnt both ends and started in the middle as well.
Worked out which I shouldn't of as only had Xmas day off since october but knew to get trix done would be a sacrifice. Oh and only 17 evenings & 7 weekend end days i have availbale before vf.

Nah sleep at vf whyyyyyyyyyy its PARTY time.

My week has been final lot of white on bumpers , door top parts and small bits. Final coat of blue on doors which got me that milestone of polishing up time and rebuild. So glad as getting a bit fed up of spraying as feel it's been going on for ages. Still have steering wheel and steering box to do it that's been away for shortening but collect that Monday eve..

So the good bit and de mask

Image

Image

Started on first door top refreshing felt seals

Image

Image

Cleaned up engine bay fitting fuel tank and re routing wires.

Image

Image

Image

Still need to secure wires but all in position

Then polished up dash fitting all switches & re routing the wires.

Image

Was making good progress on polishing up white but under lip of gutter is playing hard to get as have a 1\2" section I can't get to which will be same around whole perimeter. So unsure how to sort that bit. Then got real cheesed off as got carried away on front panel and just got a grey shadow having almost burnt through. Grrrrrrr f#;:'"*\* ****, OK reminded me gently gently more haste.
Looks like remask and more white tomorrow. :(

The race is on for Vicky farm end of this month, she won't be complete by any means but allows us the family get away. unfortunately using old handles lights etc till next winter when I get more time & budget to sort. But kind of lucky to most restos all running gear was overhauled over these last few years so its just bolt back in.
Original interior for now which is reaonably tidy but will gradually make new to how we want to modify over next few months so work in progress. Natural light will highlight some snaggy defects or paint imperfections which worse case scenario may need some body work but have plenty of paint so no issue.

Early start today but being a Sunday quiet job first so tackled sound deadening job getting most of long and short panel done. Still fire wall and doors to do but need to work out for best coverage first as want to get front panel and as much covered of other flat surfaces as possible.

Image

Next up was polishing.

Image

Image

Image

Not a bad shine :)

Image

Image

And looking the other way well should be a bus in there or is my door out of plum

Image

Also got cargo doors done and rear hatch but they got buried again before I rembered to take any pics. Wiper motor also re fitted so trix is taking shape.
Next job is roof and long panel plus around windows internally but then that's all polishing done yahooooooooo.
