Mike,

Why don't you just make the partition removable ??

Best of both worlds

Phil. :D

As Phil said.....but make it a hinged wall so it swings back out of the way when extra space is needed!

Cheers for input guys but wall will probably stay. It's there to support the roof so hinged or removable partitions aren't options. After thinking about it, if I had that little bit of extra space, I would just fill it with junk that I'd have to move anyway. Or, far more likely I wouldn't even bother and just wheel the bus outside to work on it
I'll just make sure I have enough roof to open the rear hatch with the doors closed.

Concrete cladding just sounds wrong to me Jon! Having to put concrete roof tiles on is bad enough! Nope, weatherboarding has to be wood, even if it bends and lets in drafts and is a bugger to paint

Right, been busy here for a few days with the Chuckle Brothers working hard. I took Monday off work as I thought I could be useful as a bit of manual labour for the day, getting the site ready for the concrete base. It pretty near killed me, and I wasn't even working half as hard as Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. (Glad to get back to my desk job on Tuesday for a rest.)

Base marked out and shuttering in place.

All ready for the concrete lorry 30 mins ahead of schedule. Lorry was hour late ...

End of a productive day one, despite the concrete delay.

Tuesday was block work and brick plinth day. Nothing here I could help with, only get under their feet, so back to 'work' to do some architectural CGI's while this magically appeared in my absence. Garden is starting to look very small again.

And by the time I come home today the garage has really started to take shape! Initially thought it looked massive, but inside it just feels 'right'. Can't wait to start fitting it out ...

Got tomorrow off as well so progress may be hindered slightly as I get under peoples feet. Trip to the tile reclamation yard first off to sort out roof.

Susie will have words Sinclair, calling it a 'man' cave!

A few shots of Thursdays progress.

Battens, weatherboarding, guttering delivery ...

Roof felt and fixing battens, after I'd collected a tile sample from the reclamation yard.

Thursday sunset, still working on battens! The weather was very kind to us this week thankfully. Pretty windy, but mostly dry.

And while Buzz and John were cracking on with the shed, I cleaned up the old Crittall windows as much a possible. These were fitted to the original garage. I love them, but they are a bit 'Marmite'.

And while you are probably all thinking, as I was - "Bloody hell that's a big shed for a little garden." here is a view from the street, where it doesn't look quite so imposing.

Lovely sunset, I could get used to working outdoors!

And finally, for now, Saturday morning.

Breathing some new life in the old Crittall windows. These will get a good clean and overhaul, and the missing glass replaced. The gaps underneath are for me to sort out the sills. I'm not sure how yet, either wood or tile.
