Well I'm very late to this party. I've read your thread from start to finish over the last few weeks and wow, what can I say. What you have done is unbelievable. A massive credit to you and your family! I no how much hard work and time goes into it as I restored a mk1 caddy, it took me 5 years to build and wasn't any where near as bad as your bus. I also did everything myself so i know the huge sense of achievement you get from it. I'm now on the look out for a splitscreen project as like you i have 2 young kids (of the female variety however) so I want something we can all go out in and enjoy. Your kids will certainly look back with fond memories of tgere childhood in a splitty when they are older and your thread has definitely made my mind up that I want the same for my kids. So anybody want a mint mk1 caddy? Think i'm gonna sell it and buy a split project. This thread will be my bible when I start the restoration.

You'll never be disapointed bro ... the amaout of please Gerry has given us over the years totaly out ways the hard work that i had too put into it

Enjoy the process mate and enjoy it ... there will be good times there will be bad / hard times but remember the goal ( the kids smiles ) and do a thread and take loads of photos ... that was my key to the success ... the people on here are all now good mates and they all kept me going and pushing me to do a good kob and to also finish what I started

Give your self a fantastic reason to do it and you'll SMASH IT mate ...

So with a very heavy hart I inform you all that we had to say good buy to Jack ( aka Chan ) ... jackie chan !!
We all held him tight as he passed away and took him home where we layed him to rest for an hour in his fav bed while I did one of the hardest jobs ive ever had to do ... dig his grave in the garden ;-( cried like a baby with every shuvel full

We agreed to not get another dog for some time ....


But it was too much for the family and I'd keep walking into room and finding everyone crying ...

Claire was the in a complete mess and in the beginning she didnt even want a dog

Chan changed her way of thinking 100% ... Claire would text me photos of dogs that need rescueing ... so a popped out of work one day and checked some of these chaps out ...... this little fluffy number called Baer ( names at the centre ) came straight up to me and chose me ..... I reserved him nd too the family up to see him that weekend ..... they all loved him and the adoption process started and a week later to picked him up

MEET " ARTHUR " EVERYONE .... Arthur Bear Pindar ...... the yungest and newest member of the family .... the family feel compete again and I'd like to officially thank Jackie Chan for being the most amazing dog I'd ever had and for showing my family the way ... and for us to now never be without a furball in our house

we still cry from time to time over Jack ( as i'm doing right now ) but Arthur is doing Chan proud and has turned out to be a lovely little fella who just loves life and everyone he meets

his a fab SHOTGUN PARTNER TOO

Lovely story Mark, better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
