I few weeks ago I decided to fit a Cb performance breather tower & vent it to both carbs, as I'd had enough of the oil misting from the crankcase breather filter.
Black AN6 Fittings & nylon braided hose
Filters masked inside & out, Nylon jig machined so I could get the hole in the middle.
Hole opened out with a cone drill of suit a AN tank fitting
Photos of the breather tower went awol at this point. This was etch primed & painted satin black as I didn't really want any large amounts shiny stuff in the engine bay.
Pretty happy with the end results, a stealthily finish with no more misting.

Ive had the bus of the road for the last couple of months to sort out my fuel gage & a couple of other niggles.
Engine out & fuel tank flushed & in with a sun pro universal sender from Tim & Early VW, I can now set the correct ohm readings on my digital Dakota gauge to gee a correct fuel level reading. (most of my photos went AWOL)
While the tank was out I cleaned up the engine bay, relocated the fire extinguisher, fitted 8mm hose from the tank & tidied the wring.
While the motor was out, I had a punt at selling my carbs. I wasn't impressed with the Empi's, 15 minutes later on FB they were sold & I was carb less!
Dan Simpson sorted my out with a pair of Dells & a 123 ignition as we I had been supplying him with my throttle rollers. I opted for a CB linkage kit from heritage.
Trial Fit
I then spent a good few hours modifying my tinware to fit the CB manifolds, which i dropped off at Aerocoat for a refresh in crinkle black.
While this was being done I machined my type 3 hubs at work to suit M14 bolts, & ground a little more clearance for the spring plates. I also decide to clean up the chassis & pan sections.
Then I decide to machine some linkage arms for the dells as the universal aren that comes in the kit has far too much clearance as it also need to fit Webers which have a 1mm wider flat.
CNC machined from stainless 316
I also thought I machine up some better fitting aluminium filter tops with a 1/4 NPT breather outlet.
Tinware back for refit, new Aeroquip oil lines & fittings with some firehose jacket. I also wrapped the exhaust pipes to keep as much heat as possible away from the hoses.
Back at work with another couple of ideas, firstly a fuel block off plate with coil clamp (thanks to Lee from Rusty Lee for this idea) & a dizzy clamp to suit the 123.
Final fitment
Replacement batch of billet parts back from anodizing
This weeks job was to fit some braided brake lines.

I can see a whole new range of "marketable" parts!
I have weber 40s on my 1776cc with my coil in exactly the same place....but likewise have a dislike of too shiny parts or colours so my engine bay theme is black with a little anodised where unavoidable.
I had problems with slight overun and fitted your roller, braided accelerator cable, accelerator pedal spring and a bracket with throttle return springs to each carb.
Like the carb filtertops - they look the business.
I have a standard oil filler with motor cyle breather on the top of th tube where it normally goes to the oil bat and no breather catch system as yet.
Engine has been broken in, dyno tested and stop started but not run in earnest yet so will see what mist we get..

Once again hats off to you mate!! Incredible attention to detail.
Im in the process of building a CNC router at the moment with my dad for this very reason, love the whole process of CAD to reality, at the touch of a few buttons, and although Im lucky to have a miller now, doing it by hand is a little tedious [emoji16][emoji16].
Looking forward to seeing what comes next!!
