Fantastic work.. Although you've done twice as much work to save bits of the outer skin, there won't be any busses out there with this level of patina...in fact it goes beyond patina, it's like preserving an artefact!
Hope I'll see this in the flesh at a show.

I'm very impressed .... Love the way you thought lots about that door and pulled it out the bag .... Well blooming done
one SHOT door
one good door
chop them both up and work your magic and BOOOOOM one saved patina door ..... it was a must to save it or the whole bus would have looked wrong .
well done again

Cheers fellas. Door is complete now !
Just waiting for the potion to take a bit more affect ..
Also got the rubbers on the other door top, have to say it probably took me as long to do this as it did to re skin the door . Still need some fettling as the quarter light doesn't close properly and I put the catch and metal wind deflector but on wrong so glass will come back out tomorrow
Also got the wiring back in place and passed through the front panel, all lights and engine are working again now

Cheers , nice to know someone is appreciating it .. I set into this six months ago having barely touched a welder so had no idea how it was going to turn out and how long it would take. I'm now hopefully about 4 weeks off an mot with vic farm planned for the first outing (as its only about 20 miles away!) anyway another night spent on it , well a short one as Last night I finished about 2am . Not too much to show for it but I had a few splits and holes around the headlamps due to the accident damage, I've welded all these and applied some potion , changed one of the headlamp rings for a ratty one, fitted clutch pedal and high beam switch (which still worked perfectly) put a new section of seam behind the lower hinge and tidied up welds between a post and repair panel

Now some repairs to the bottom of the door

The front end has def changed a bit from this ;)

Cheers, yeh it is very different to fitting complete panels but also very satisfying when I pull it off . Couple of hours back in the workshop tonight.. All of which were spent on the drivers door bottom which was in a bad way.
Got the buttys accelerator linkage in but just pondering how the pedal mounts to the floor !?? It looks like i just need to slot the floor and push it through but my other bus has a hinge in it, this pedal doesn't look as though it has ever had any sort of hinge, anyone know ??

Thanks , I think it will certainly stand out when done !
Forgot to add last night that I have hopefully made my last order of parts bringing the total spent on parts / panels to £6k added to the $900 cost for the bus plus shipping (which ended up going by California and costing quite a bit extra) total spend is just under £10k on the road I'm sure if I factor in the 300 hours plus that I have spent on the bus I will still be on a loss though ! Oh and I still need four tyres yet

Looks like the right pedal but you need the hinge and pin to go with it. Probably welded to your old floor!

Few bits over the weekend in between pub visits .. Managed to get the brackets welded on the ends of the front bumper so this is now fitted , welded in some repairs for the seals round the front door , fitted seat brackets and fitted one of the door cards back in, these were in a right mess but managed to flatten them.. No washers spare but found some replacements on the workshop floor
it was nice to finally sit in the front of the bus !

I managed to get about 4 hours tonight so set to with the cargo doors, both bottoms were in a mess both inner and outer
So out with the grinder
Bit of welding, lots more grinding
Mixed some more potion and five minutes later all that nasty shiny metal has all gone
Another 24 hrs and another coat and that should be it ... Welding list is now down to ... Cargo floor !!
