Hey Moler...
Thanks for the tip dude... I'm planning to replace the cover for one with a sump plug nut, when I change the oil, after running it with flushing fluid so may try and do it then.
Thanks for posting man (The bay pick-up is looks fun)
Matt.

Ok guys, the van is nearly all welded up and I have a few pics for you guys to check out.
Some of the finishing up in regards to welding has been held up a bit due to a delay from some pesky columbians sending my new floor over, but its now with the van and ready to go in!
Door gaps looking sweet...
Side panels all fitted and looking goooood
And the long side....
Cargo doors
I have been sorting out a few bits in my garage to do with the engine after the rebuild.. there seems to be some kind of rubbing in the fan housing which needs to be sorted out and also there is an issue with the new clutch plate I bought.
Just need to get the gearbox cleaned up and ready to go, then need to make sure I have everything I need for my straight axle conversion at the back
Oh yea, heres a picture of the floor which has just arrived ......
And also some exciting progress on RHD walkthrough seats. I originally was wanting to get the original seats but after snooping around and checking posts it seemed I would be parting with a lot of money for the originals so I had left it out of mind but kept my eyes open... fortunately Davey H and type21f both sent me a link ( viewtopic.php?t=83263 ) to a pair of RHD walkthrough seats which ReBorntobeWild had posted.... I immediately posted him a pm and fortunately I was the first one!!
So I drove up to meet george and got my seats!! Yay.
And here's a couple of pics of them in my van
Lovely!!

Also have been looking into steering racks and been looking at the creative stuff....
Anyone have any helpful advice? Used creative rack? Recommend anything else?
I was at Elemental show in Essex a few weekends ago and http://www.litesteer.com/ were there but there rack looked a bit odd with the huge box on the column.
I have been looking at this:

Thanks Mark,
I have had a look numerous times at the red9 stuff and love it, I just think that my budget would suffer more than it already is! ahhh. There's also the fact I have already put adjusters & dropped spindles on my rebuilt beam so I think I will run that up front until i feel like an upgrade
Have you thought about what you are going to do for the back yet? Am I right in thinking you have gone for IRS? I'm sure I read that in your thread somewhere.

Ok so had a little look through some bits in the loft which were put away as they weren't needed at the time, in doing so I pulled out my front bumper.....
Now I'm hoping maybe someone might be able to help me with what exactly the bumper is and where it may have originally come from.
It has raised ribs, also came with deluxe trim bit on the front. It's not in a great state but havn't seen many buses like it.
These are the bits of trim....
Im not 100% on what this bumper is or what planet (well, bus) it has come from. Anyone who may not let a brother know...

Hi Matt,
Great to meet you last week re insulation for your bus. Sorry I had to rush off.
Your resto makes mine look like a walk in the park!
Keep up the good work.

I think you and I would have a good competition for who bought they worst condition RHD walk thru bus! Hope my restoration starts progressing like yours now that it is at a new specialist.
Was pointed to your thread as I need some a-pillars and was considering the Klassic Fab ones.

Hi Matt
Amazing work going on.
Your front bumper is a ribbed bumper for a late 56 to 59 with delux trim.
It has the wide flat area for the number plate showing it was made in the Hannover factory.
If you are keeping the bus stock you wont need this and should be able to sell it without much problem

John...
Thanks so much for the pointer regarding the bumper & trim, that's really helpful.
Are these hard/rare to come by?
