Did you get the mat?
Yes! It came in less than a week and it is frickin awesome!
It rates as one of my best buys yet! A really good match to the originals.
Looks perfect to me - smooth edges and areas around cut outs, waffling on the back. What's not to like!

Fitted front pedestal mats yesterday. I managed to get the cuts pretty darn good, but just couldn't get them to sit nicely on the part which curves. They're good enough though.
What is a balls ache is that the monkeydub seals I bought wouldnt fit with the mat tucked in towards the bottom. I suspect it's as much to do with the fact the arches and pedestals have been replaced. In the end I resorted to trimming about 6 inches, rather than tucking it in. Again, not perfect but ok for now.
Of course, the doors don't shut now that the seals are fitted. I was hoping that using the silicon seals would avoid this issue, but no such luck. Looks like all the doors will need adjusting with the seals fitted. Pictures this evening.
Next job is to vacuum out the front cab area, test fit the floor mat. Check the correct position for the dip switch and fit it. I could do with fitting the shifter base as well, but it's a 2 man job , as someone needs to be under th bus to hold the linkage plate in position.
Then it's the horrendous job of trimming the walk through area. GULP.

Passenger side mat, prior to tucking in and glueing.
Difficult edge on drivers side. It actually doesn't look as bad as it looks in the picture, thankfully.
Drivers side completed with seals installed
Door shuts after installing seals.

It's looking hopeless. I need to have a proper look at it and work out which bits are causing the issue. I'd like to get the van out on the drive to do it as I'm faffing around not being able to open the doors fully inside the garage.
Turned my attention to fitting an interior light tonight. That was a mission as well..

Yer I expected those light would be fun !!
To let you into a secret I never fitter the lower rubber to the cab door area .... I only fitted the bit that goes up the B-post and along the top and then down the A-post .... ( one complete rubber by memory ) the rubber at the bottom just was never going to work and as its not needed to keep the bus water tight so I felt it off ..... and you know how nice my doors close
cheers

I bought the expensive silicone ones, but I'm not sure they're worth the bother.

Do they look like they will bed in like the others do or do you think they will keep the shape?

Hmmm, I will keep up with your progress, need to decide which ones to opt for on mine in the near future.
Whats next for you apart from door gaps?

Fitting the poptop is the next big one. A pretty big one that!
The bunks and lift arms have gone off to the powder coaters. I need to seperate and straighten the canvas frame next.
