Well I wasted the afternoon flatting a polishing my repro ambulance fans cover, only to find it doesn't fit.
So that will be going on eBay.
Basically a whole afternoon thrown away.
Not sure what to do. Try and get another cover, or just stick with a non ambulance fan set up.

Boring stuff today. Washed out the fuel tank with a strong solution of marine clean. Now it needs to dry before I seal the interior with Bilt hamber Geox.
It's the first time I've unwrapped it since it was powder coated and very pretty it is too.
Now I need to re seal it up and fill the inside with the deox solution for a while to remove and seal the corrosion inside.
Yawn.

In NYC this week on business will order a set of wcm door seals whilst I'm there and bring them back with me.

You're doing a cracking job. I'm enjoying following your progess.
Can you post up details of the stuff you're using to do the tank? I have to do the same to mine.
Cheers,
Steve

Yes, one man's boring is another man's to do list so info on the tank would be interesting.

Ok. So I've washed the tank out with:
http://www.frost.co.uk/cleaner-degrease ... clean.html
Then I've protected it using this:
http://www.bilthamber.com/deox-c
And sealed it using this:

Yawn!

West coast metric kindly delivered a package to my hotel this morning.
Hopefully these door seals will fit well. I like the fact that they have different profiles for different areas of the door.

OK. So back in the groove now.
This week (so far) I have:
Finished building the bunks that were cluttering up my office.
Put together and fitted the poptop lifting arm mechanisms.
Installed the trim around the poptop hole.
Fitted the new bunk covers that the wife and I made out of headlining vinyl, which included installing new eyelets for the securing tabs.
Cleaned up some old bay window tanks straps I bought to save faffing around welding together split screen ones.
I'll install the bunks and the fuel tank at the weekend when the new stainless hardware arrives and take some pictures.
