Karl, really feel for you after the last 18 months I have had with engine trouble, if I get the one I have installed run in over the next month or so I could lend you a runner, it isn't great but got us around France last summer, just going to hold onto it until the new one has proved itself.....

Thanks guys, the offer is much appreciated. I'll be in touch once I have some idea of what the damage is.

Engine is now 90% assembled, with new mains, big end, cam bearings & rings. While its out I've decided to ditch the heat exchangers & fit a 36hp fan. Just waiting on the powder coating as there's a shortage of the crinkle finish resin that I had done to the other tinware.
Got a good deal on my Vintage speed parts from Dan, for part ex in some custom engraved filter tops.

Engines finished, back in & fired up. We did a 70 mile run out & she ran really sweet & not a drop of oil in sight. Really pleased with my first engine build & looking forward to building a 2110.
Dakota digital gauges are now gone & replaced with a Autometer fuel & oil pressure gauge, the bodge job gauge wiring has been replaced throughout. Need to fit a tachometer, but cant decided on whether to fit a 60mm mini or a 127 monster gauge.
Also got some over riders fitted to the rear bumper, they needed ageing slightly as they where too white!

Interior is out as provisionally sold it wasn't really suitable for the 4 of us, Richard booth is knocking me up a custom width Buddy seat & Keith & Ken's Customs is on the upholstery.
Bus is currently with Lloyed at Deluxe Metalworks, having the floorpan drain hole patched & a chassis notch. Cant recommend Lloyed enough, his work in first class & has plenty of time for his customers unlike the other option I had!

With the Westy 3/4 interior out & sold I've spent the last few weeks working out a solution to fit inertia belts in the rear as I now have a full length R&R.
I machined some side plates at work with a 2deg taper on the mounting face to bring the inner edge square, this made it easier to get the correct brace length & I could also bolt the parts together for trial fitting.
Side plate
Frame mock up
Belt mock up
Frames drilled & tapped 7/16 with a nut welded to the back for extra thread depth. painted satin black
Final trial fit
Insulation in
Side panels drilled & belts finished.
