Just back from Spa and what an epic show. Insane cars everywhere. Swap meet to die for. Managed to score some of the missing bits for my dash. Now have a clock pod plate, deluxe emblem and also last week managed to find a deluxe dash ashtray!!
Couldn't resist trial fitting everything. I have the plinth for the badge but I've gotta cut a hole in the blanking plate first.
Whilst I was enjoying myself drinking Belgium's finest Matt & Bob have been cracking on reuniting the body to the chassis....
If anything the long side looks to be the easy bit
Next up the short.....

Very impressive work!
Do you mind if I ask how the rear frame rails were replaced, more specifically, how you get them over/around the torsion tube? My bus is a bit soft in this (and many other) area.
Thanks
Stewart

Honest answer is I don't know Stewart, Matt pops on here from time to time I'm sure he'll answer that for you.Disco Stew wrote:Very impressive work!

Today was prep the roof section day...

Also trial fitted the dash plinth. Bit of pinkish red paint and that will fit right in!

Bit more exciting progress today after almost a full day of head scratching yesterday.
Bus has a rear roof tacked in place for the first time in 40 plus years.
Repair of D pillar begins today too.....
anyone know what this reflector is? It looks like a frese big diamond to me but it doesn't have anything written on the bevel. Scotty i know you're a reflector perv, can you enlighten me?

Here are a few snaps from this weeks happenings down on the farm.
Matt & Bob have been getting the short side attached in some fashion to the roof and then offering that to the rest of the body
Long side next
aaaand attached. sort of! Tacked and ready for aligning.

Im on holiday currently in sunny cornwall and i managed to convince my girlfriend to come with me to look at some lovely rust as opposed to sunning her self on St Ives beach!
Matt & Bob have been racing along and I'm super super stoked on the progress......
Its really really starting to look almost bus shaped!! well to me it is anyway
Front will be put back on last. Original roof will be put back at this point too. Doing away with the airbox section too. Going spare if anyone needs one?
Unbelievably in amongst the hours and hours on my shed matt has also found a little time to start on his nail too!!
