I have ordered the vinyl for the panels inside which should come soon......

i have filled out the paper work to get the age related registration number........

so it should be on display in the Rat section at Big bang santapod........


on the way to get the van checked out at DVLA........

Just received the sound insulation today so will have a go ant fitting it soon.........



And now for some tiling...............





and some roofing.........the adhesive didn't work and had to remove the padding and re stick the blue vinyl....tedious but worth it...

FINALLY MADE IT TO SANTAPOD......







In the Rat competition.........they said it nearly one....!!!! never mind....










had the Type 4 Engine rebuilt to 2.4 by Rich Morena and the gearbox rebuilt and fitted with a Quaife slipper diff done by Paeter at Cog box...


















Got Noticed at Bugjam last year and found the van in VW Camper and Bus.which was quite cool..........


went to VW Elemental 2012 ......



Tnen took the bus for a trip to the seaside and stayed at out other house in Harwich Essex.......




Started panelling the back out.....going to fit a chequered floor rock and roll bed and find some parcel shelf furniture.....


and now for some floor tiling....





Had to redo the middle and front roof panels as the vinyl didn't stick the the under material...

Supposed to run the Van at Bug bang but was washed out with the rain............

started the rear sections....







fitted a short shelf and sprayed the small amount of roof that was showing with black paint and voilà' you cant see the joins....!!


not sure how i am going to cover the rear lower corners.......either fill with foam and cover with vinyl or vinyl
straight on the metal work....

just read the thread from the start well done fella ,its a credit to you.One day i will see in the flesh and i cant wait !!!really cant wait to park mine nxt to it either as the doves are awesome,where did you get the paint ???what code is it looks like a really good shade match ??

Hi Smiler the paint is obviously Dove blue......but to blend into the original paint I asked for a satin finish.To age the new paint wore it down here and there and then used Rust buster over the whole van to protect the rusted areas new and original and give it a nice Patina.I then sprayed several coats of laquer..............add a picture of your ride on here so I can enjoy it........

heres a piccy if mine on my way back from picking up from docks early 55 semaphore dove blue under all that paint and provin hard to get off !!!!loadsa work but just takin my time as i dont have much at the mo

now for trimming....








this was a bit of a head scrater who to fill in the rear air vent so i used some steel strips welded them together and covered them in vinyl......i learnt this from blue peter......!!!






here's one i prepared earlier......


and Voila' in it goes.........



And that is the last bit of interior going in for now.....
