Cheers Gents,
Well as Lou was out Christmas dinnering, i slipped away to make the final attack on getting the bulk of the rear wheel arch's finished tonight after work.
Yep it was O/S rear wheel arch night, i manged to shave over 2 hours off making this one, thanks in part as i had my templates and it doesnt have the bloody arkward flat on the top, 1st one was about 4 3/4 hours and this one 2 3/4 hours - result
Here are some pics....
Here again it is just tacked together and no metal finishing or anything other than thrown together, i will remove all the tacks and drill and plug weld through the seam on the back on both to make them correct but it helps me to get the final shape of the arch doing it this way first.
the new arch, no front closer panel yet either
Well i just had to im sorry and i do apologies for its very very crude nature at the moment but after all the panels have been gone over with alot more time it should be much better.
Im a bit chuffed with this to be honest as non of it existed sunday lunch time....
I have all the curves on the base of the bulkhead ribs to form yet, i found a rough way of doing them which i experimented on all the top ones, using a 10mm socket hammered into my pallet and a 17mm spanner to smack down to for the curve - it is low tech stuff. The ribs too have to be smoothed off but i will do that later on.
I will hopefully have one final evening on it before christmas to make one more panel then thats it for now i think.
Cheers
Mark

I am sure Mark would too ...
The 53 is not a million miles away now ...so the Kempes will be on the road before you know it !!

Cheers,
Taking a few days off welding and grinding, so decided to try and make something new. As the thick steel i was hoping to be making some stuff with hasnt turned up -then just for fun and not for the 51 i decided to made a side door for some practice to see what was involved.
Took the 52 up as it had some big sheets of steel in the back that i have been meaning to get out for ages.
This thing gets a ton of use but as of yet touch wood not one problem with it. The number plates are still on the list
Start
the pallet method of fabrication and my new B and Q clamps (rubbish dont buy!)
end, its no Autocraft or Gerson panel but its not too bad, i will make the inner parts tomorrow see what it looks like.
Cheers
