cheers Gents- i take 100 pictures and photoshop the best one
. Believe me its no pressing.
found a few more pics from when we collected it - just to get me back on track of the plan.
Met up with a few dodgy faces along the way
Lou and i, was also very very lucky to get a great night out cruising about in this fantastic van seeing the local sights.
just before leaving.
the more i think about it, even after seeing the frame the gents built under it - i really thought most of the way back that body would collapse over the remains of the chassis especially at the front. It was hard to work out what was keeping it up it had already collapsed once at the front and at the back before they repropped it up and it was resting on the bulkhead upright at the back all the way home but it all held.
You could tell how bad it was as when i tried to get it in the garage by lifting the back on a jack, the torsion beam went up like 5" before the body started to move and that was the good end .
hopefully in the next few weeks i should get to fixing her.
I cant wait.....thank god at least it doesnt need any paint or a wash -
cheers

So after tempting my self with pics, i stopped at the old garage the 51 is in to have a play and get the engine lid
It was rusty and very banana'd and twisted. I used the weight of the ramp with Clintons van on with peices ofwood in various places to force it back into shape. Bit of hammer work and hey presto
Not perfect still but much better
Its a small start but its a start..
I even got the lock moving

, i cant wait either...
On a slight side track as usual - i got some thickers gauge steel after work tonight and Popped up to turn the one of the front liners template's into a" real one" to make sure the template is somewhere right. The ribs were just to see if i can do them decent in thicker gauge, conclusion i cant - they need work especially the long one and i need to find a new way..
I wont use this just keep it for may be another idea i have or cut it up to repair the lower section, i want to keep as much original metal as i can on the 51.

This has been sat on the side looking sorry for itself for the last 2 years, so i put a plug on it and it only worked.
I then kicked, punched and beat myself up for not putting a plug on the damn think 2 years back.
Did some practicing with it as i have never used a spot welder before and the thing is the nuts - so easy with perfect welds
DAmn why didnt i put that plug on . But all ready for the Kempes van
