(EDISON) THE WESTY SO33 RESTO UNDERWAY

(EDISON) THE WESTY SO33 RESTO UNDERWAY

Hi all , This caught my eye a couple of months ago on the samba and decided to have a stab at it being a rare westy model . It's a 1965 SO33 in og dove blue, complete , including the full 33 camping kit ,yellow & grey privy tent, and og westy roof rack .It has been sitting in a barn for the past 20 years awaiting some love, but due to lack of time just sat there. So a deal was struck which also included delivery to the nearest port (Linden NJ) which was over 1000 mls round trip . Finally this week it set off from the barn on its road trip stopping outside Thomas Edison birth place (hence the name Edison I've called it) through Pennsylvania to Linden nr New York for the trip across the Atlantic to Felixtowe .Hope you like the pictures!

Called round the other day to drop those hub clips off and take a look at the van, but think you was down the pub. Got a nice 6 berth caravan to P/X if looking for a swap!! (Just need to convince the wife) Heard on the grape vine you just took delivery of another SO33 ???, imported from Canada ???

Yes Rick you have heard right. 33's are like Stagecoach Buses you wait an hour for one and then 2 come together!. Here are a few pics from Liverpool Docks

Had a bit of spare time at the weekend, so got started on building up the parts that had been stripped off . Got out the buffer & G3 compound to try and get the OG Dove Blue to shine Also started to remove the old seat covers ready for S & J trimmers to fit some new ones

Finished buffing the paint back to a nice shine ( hard work in this heat ) but worth it in the end . Had new Sisal mat made in the USA ,that arrived today .Seat bases and backrest sanded and varnished ready to be reupholstered fitted set of white bands .That's about it for the weekend,
