Filling the gaps continues...
B post repairs on the NS...
This side has had the B post raised by about a centimetre from the 1964 crash repairs. .
Looking good..
Cargo door inner and outer cill assembly trial fitted....
Repaired cargo doors being used to ensure gaps and alignment are still correct..
Coming along nicely..
Exciting..

I remember being at that point and so glad to be past it. Lots of bits all clamped in then trying to judge other parts on fit / position. Needed Steve's elfs.

Matt n Dave have about 6 spirits to help them....
The level edded ....variety..
LOL..
Hence Dave's quote about making one small change in one area creating a massive change in another.....
The more you fix down the less play you have elsewhere...
Sherry: Does the flap of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil set off a tornado in Texas?

They are pro's, some of us mear mortals we're learning & knew once fixed created more work if wrong. I'm a measure twice cut several times then make another. Lol.

Too true...
My old boss used to say...
Always wanted yesterday...time had run out....
Best take time to do it properly because there will be loads of time to do it again if you cock it up...!
I can always remember seeing a mini crabbing down the road and seeong it was being driven by my friend..
I stopped him and had a very careful look at the mini.. which turned out to be two nearly new minis welded together round the middle..
Ended up going to court to put the trader away and get his money back...
LOL..

Just read, laughed, mused over and mostly caught up on the last 4 pages of the story! Thorough work going on in here! To a standard I can only dream of, and as has been said, definitely will last another 50 years. Love the methodical approach too, I jumped around far too much with mine, seeing the pros approach is so cool.

...glad you enjoyed...
As said before...
I sometimes provide the ideas with my crazy drawings and search for parts and detailed information..
But Dave and Matt can do anything..
We mused about how to tackle a bus which when I took the glass out was obviously quite fragile.
The cant rail over the B post was rotted through..The roof was filled with fibreglass and every but everyone who came to see it dug at the holes and dug more out..
So it had to be to swap the roof and remove the hundreds of pop rivets and refit the short side first.
I found the rotisserie drawing and ordered the lengths of thick wall box section and Matt modified the design and fabricated it..
Then when all loosely in place over she went to remove rotten chassis and floor...
Now set them a challenge to copy M025 as first seen fitted to Nathan's Swedish Samba and then to rusty1962...
The great thing about these two is they share some skills and each has his own unique abilities..
Matt on engines gearboxes (he has destroyed quite a few and had to swap/rebuild them overnight at strip side) and electrical and mechanical install (which are oh so tidy)
Dave on paint and paint and paint...oh and everything else...LOL
Both enjoy problem solving...
I still like Dave's shrugs and the fact he will only do things that are right...
His right..
LOL

So another picture..
Chassis all welded up and level and square....
CSL tube
Clutch cable tube
Throttle cable tube
Brake cable tube
Conduit down each chassis leg for main loom and auxiliary loom fitted
All with pull through wires waiting to be used.
Acid etch protected as we go along
Outriggers and top hats fitted
Almost all the floor base done ready for floor halves to be added
Jacking points yet to be added
Heating duct to be added and repaired at the front..

More work is slowly being completed....on Sherry....
Trial fitting the dog leg inners.
In preparation I had bought some early Klassicfab inners from musclebus before he stopped selling panels from Gerson.
Chris had a good reputation sourcing and trading selling the funky green panels and nice guy with it...but like everyone I THINK the frustration of delivery issues from Columbia wore him down...
Anyways the parts are good..delivery from Klassicfab is an issue..
Same through evam and C&C...
I know Gerson is in the USA and his pressing plant is in Columbia and in emails to me ...he has said he will be setting up warehousing in Europe but...
The only way I got my A post was buying online on the US site and arguing for his Columbian agent to Fed ex me the part...5 days is all it took.
Rant over
So I smile to see the inners being fitted and how really good my wheel tubs look after patching a few holes.
We will be fitting Autocraft outer skins and cab floor corners.
More tacking and aligning still to do to check/ set A post position and height and cross member position... but all progressing well..
Bottom of door has crease dent and outer skin patch to be lead loaded but more good work...
