RHD '62 fake 15 Window (now back to 11 windows)

.....and my first post!

Hi Everyone,

Pleased as punch with my new wheels. Been "out of the Scene" for a few years since selling my '64 Notch (about 5 years ago) - but the itch never went away!!

Imported from Japan in 2008 and has undergone a comprehensive mechanical restoration over the last 12 months prior to me taking ownership last weekend (handily just in time for a visit to Vanfest :D ).

I'll no doubt be hanging around here quite a bit over the next few months picking up tips as my bus knowledge is not as good as my Bug & Type 3 knowledge.

Nige

Very nice ride that - how did you happen upon it in Japan?

Import was before my time so I don't know how it was found in Japan.

First owner over here was from Dorset and a few bits were done by him, reconditioned steering box and CSP front brakes being the main bits before being sold on in Feb this year to a guy from Cardiff who had a TES recon 1600 fitted, the rear straight axled with recon box and dropped spindles up front by The Bus Station.

However, despite having all that work done (£8k's worth since Feb) he has decided to emigrate and that's where I stepped in.

Personally, i would have spent the engine money on something a little more pokey (my old notch had a 2110cc stroker motor which was fab :D ) but it will do me for a while - after all, it still has less than 500 miles on it and is still being run-in.
