Yep as you say a Sam, can be the most rewarding and adrenaline rush of a job but also the worst. Today was a training day playing with flames in a compartment at 400 deg so a tad warm, job n knock so home at 4 and hit he cave..
Started on n/s corner and wish I hadn't although as Mr P reminds me hard way is the best way.
Got the crap out and found some great repairs and some monster filler repairs.
With some lovely side patches again well gobbed over and didn't eve see them.
Cleared remainder of bits off, why oh why didn't they dress worst out
Didn't take long to loose most
Need to made a small frame repair
And sort these
Trial fit of battery tray is almost there but then spent ages trying to offer up lower bowl which is proving to put up a fight.
That's me till Friday.

Looks fab mate
Always a surprise waiting under and old buses paint
All those years ago there would have been no replacement panels so all people could do was weld silly bits here and there on their buses
At least it's now getting the love Trix deserves //// so well done Bren

Was itching for Friday cave time until the back went pop miday finishing off a roof. Struggled through but by the time I was home was seized solid & couldn't do a thing, Saturday was not really any better and doubled in pain.
Today and Sunday still sore but movement is often best cure so cave it was with heater raging and set about corner bowl. Progress was slow but finally got it in, bit of a fight as old repairs fell apart so all became a bit messy. Sort of happy with it but could of done with a larger repair section but alas none are available.
Battery tray was next and lost the lip, plan is to run a bigger leisure battery and lip was stopping this.
Finished off making a new mud flap section but run out of steam.
Filler work now on corners but job for the evenings this week.

Oh dear Bren…. I hope you get better soon.
It seems that everyone has a period of illness when doing these buses. Eye remember eye did
Looking a lot more solid now

Day 5 of trapped nerve & bingo feels like its released after an hour of stretching my spine in all sorts of directions. Still sore but more bruised than anything so tried some light exercise in the cave.
The twisting action of sanding worked a treat so cleaned up engine bay & sorted the two rear corners. Was slow progress but nice to get some done, hopefully will be back to old self in a few days.
Next job treat a few areas in engine bay ,seam seal and then priming time.
Busy day tomorrow but if I get 2 minutes may get my paint colour matched as only a few weeks till its that time

Lol only thing that is original blue is the vw front badge and fuel flap, but staying with blue and white as we both like trix that way. From factory was sea blue although was resprayed in the us before it came to the uk. The blue is slightly different & to be honest we do not want to change it as its different.
Front seats were upholstered a few years back to blue and white, heinsite white was wrong choice as bus gets well used at the beach surfing, camping etc , & is a pain to keep white so eventually will be redone just blue..
No playtime at the moment as back has been playing up rotten. Had treatment tonight luckily no slipped discs but just ligament damage, which is just shear torture as just have to rest.
Cheered myself up as won a genuine radio blank for the dash. Sort of bargain @£21 & only one i'd seen for a while so does the job plus far cheeper than the so called German quality repo.
Plus two magnet warning lights from aldi's wasn't sure till I saw in the flesh. Very impressed as they are very bright with quite a few light flashing formats. Hopefully will never need them but ideal as have no hazard light function if I do..

Still rest & more rest so only one thing retail therapy which got San excited but an hour or so in a paint shop was not really her idea of retail therapy. Lol
But needs must so colour match time, deciding on a STD colour as matching later on if required would be far easier. The blue is a STD vw colour Adria blau and is spot on to what we had allowing for fade etc.
Original white on trix was what seams close to cumulus white or L680 or a varient of which is a little to grey, although as we went around the area's of white on trix they were all different. Found the parcel shelf closest to creamier white more fun colour we wanted so matched to that.
Which will equate to this eventually as a colour.
Always so hard to relate colours on a screen but hey we like it.
Will see how back is in the morning, hopefully less tender and can play for a bit .
