Ain't nobody here but us chickens!
I hear you knocking Mark - and rightly so.
Update on its way soon.
A change of jobs, crazy hours and the loss of a work laptop has preventer any update on this the last few months.
It's on the "must get round to.." List though, so post-resto update on its way soon.

Hi Monkey, I'm really enjoying reading your thread. It's very informative for a mechanical novice like me and I'm only up to page 9.
Thanks,
Steve

Do you have any clearer pictures of how the hook fits inside the engine bay ? A mate of mine has just bought a hook and the body rubber but can't see how it bolts up .Thanksmonkey knuts wrote: 2008

Next slight dilemma.
I’d always quite fancied this M code (029) option.....

Its not the prettiest of things but as these buses come with no tow hooks I quite liked the practicality.... and that goes a long way with me.
I tracked a front and rear set down which actually came from a barndoor bus. Unfortunatly it was missing part #1 and part #2, but it did have the very rare part#5. I say very rare although I haven’t cross reference the part number – its probably just a T1 bumper mount gasket!
Also unfortunately I didn’t realise at the time that the front hook comes as lhd and rhd....... and of course I had lhd.
Had to decide whether to fit this or not before replacing the rear corners really.

It bolts through the chassis rail externally, above the bumper iron. It's quite tricky getting the position of the cutout hole right, despite the measurements given in the workshop manual.

Great thread, only just discovered it.
I grew up in Stourbridge and have a vague recollection of seeing your bus in the late 80's/very early 90's- maybe when it was for sale?
The picture of Mill Street Garage you show on the first page was their new dealership opened in 1969/70. Their old dealership was in Lower High Street and their workshop on the old Mill Street before they built the ring road. The dealership was demolished in 1968, but the workshop building still exists.
1960s. Mill St Garage (workshop)
1960s. You can just about see the corner of the showroom with the Mr Bubblehead logo on the wall. Your van would have almost certainly seen the inside of that showroom...
Demolition of the old showroom in 1968...

Wow! Fascinating info Rich and thanks for taking the time to post those photos.
JUY spent its salad days with the previos owner in Cleeve Prior, Evesham and later Casltmorton.
I hope to do a run round these areas at some time next year.
