I'll be watching this one with interest, especially around the Red9 stuff. I'm considering that for my project - it'll be interesting to see how you get on.

So I had said that the safari windows were dryfitted and weld points established............

Now cast your mind back to the cargo doors .............

Needs a bit of tlc.........

So then I wanted to have a go at refurbing my speedo........

This is how it started...........not in bad shape really

Stripped apart.......

I made / cut down a rubber grommet to fit over the brass cog so not to damage it.......

Fitted the old pen tube in the end and the other in a drill..........

Happy days........5 mins and reset back to zero. I've reset as everything relevant is going to be new on the bus. Nice to start with 0

Parts rubbed down and masked off for primer.......

Primer.......

Now painted in cream.....

SHOCK HORROR......I've painted the needle red......

The little coloured discs were all brittle and burnt through..........

So I got a new kit from VW Heritage.........

Cleaned it all up ready........

And put it all back together..............

So things moving on well now. Final stages of preparation before first bits get a first coat of paint

Red 9 delivered this week also

Ill include this in next update.

See ya peeps

Yet Another great update
Well done...
You tease us with no photos of your red9
::
Mike ..... .. Master cylinder ? ..... It's the metal thing the brake fluid bottle clips into !!!! Well what ever it is ... PAINT IT ..... As I didn't and over the winter months I'm going to have to remove mine from gerry and paint it as its not protected ... I thought it had a protective layer on it but I was wrong and it keeps getting a surface rust on it
So mate paint it now as its easy todo ..... Prep it .... Light coat of etch primer on it them paint it black job done ..... Wish I did it ..... Now I got to take it off thus meaning I have to bleed all my brakes again gggrrrrrrr
Over and out
Mark
