Free camping in France
by Johnnybass38 » Wed Jun 27, 2012 2:17 pm
Hello,
Just bought a travel guide to France from the address:
https://www.vicarious-shop.com/France-Passion-2012.html
For the small sum of £24.99 you get a lovely sticker and the addresses of over 6500 farms and vineyards to stay in France, 24 hrs for FREE. There's no obligation to buy anything but you have to be self contained - not insofar as a personality trait - more that you can exist in your bus without recourse to using external facilities. Having said that, the guide lists many interesting things but the two most critical ones are English speaking hosts and toilets.
Definitely worth a look at - we're staying at a snail farm near Roscoff in August.

We used that system round France as part of our 10wk trip. Probably saved around €700 doing that.

Which ones did you like best? Any on the East Coast?

I wouldn't put it past the tricky French to introduce an East coast on the quiet, as a means of getting more money out of the GB motorist - breathalysers! However, the French are in the clear I am just dull - though in my defence as an Englishman living in Wales - many of my Welsh friends maintain that the only bad thing about their country is the lack of an East coast.

First see for me too...east coast
that's funny. They're probably looking for another coast to block

I don't remember any with showers, most don't have toilets either. It's a condition of the scheme that you are 100% self-sufficient for services. Lots of them are like camping on someones paved front drive.
